Our Blue and Golden

50th High School Reunion

Saturday, August 26, 2023, 11:00AM to 3:00PM at Salty's

Many thanks to the special people
who made this a great event!

A dedicated reunion committee and some very generous sponsors and other contributors made our 50th high school reunion a successful and very memorable event.

Our emcee Tom Hewitt brought humor and his many years of media experience to add his special touch to our luncheon.

Mark and Sheri Robison shared their gracious Hawaiian Ho'okipa as both generous sponsors and as the hosts for our refreshments.

Carolyn McKee blessed us with her gift with flowers, preparing floral centerpieces for all of our tables.

Your reunion committee would also like to recognize and thank the dedicated event staff at Salty's on Alki.  They went about their duties with flawless efficiency and professionalism.  They allowed our 135 attendees, classmates and their guests,
to enjoy four uninterrupted hours of socializing and long overdue reminiscing.

 Event Sponsors

These generous classmates made it possible for us to hold our event at one of Seattle's
iconic restaurants and banquet facilities.

Your Reunion Committee

It was a pleasure to work with this special team of classmates who each brought their unique gifts,
meeting via Zoom since last summer, to the make our reunion luncheon such a positive event.

Debra Westwood was a co-chair, organizing and leading our meetings over Zoom.  She took the lead in preparing and distributing our registration packets.  Debra also helped spread the word about our reunion on Classmates.com.

Francina Noordhoek, with her career experience as an event planner, was diligent as our liaison with Salty's on Alki.

Laurie (Sleight) Kleespies, Army veteran and small business entrepreneur, served as our event registrar and treasurer from her home in Colorado.  She took a huge load off of her twin.

Lisa Bergman and Tim Rohr added their wisdom to our planning, and Tim's work on the Kimtah fifty years ago even came in handy.

Rick Rose revealed his special tech skills as he managed to colorize our black and white yearbook photos to fashion amazing nametags.

And I'm Dick Sleight, your class representative to the West Seattle Alumni Association since 2018.  I was our other co-chair.  Whatever required an address or email passed through my computer.  As our WSHS73.org webmaster, I prepared our
In Memoriam
list, designed our event logo and program, and it was my pleasure to serve as our event photographer.  And, so that we'd remember some of what we've all been through in the 20th and 21st centuries, I prepared an entertaining hour-long PowerPoint that covered 1955 to 2023.  On a personal note, I'd like to thank my valedictorian/cheerleader/All-Metro gymnast wife Nancy (Rutherford) Sleight for all the help she gave me preparing mailings and materials that went into the registration packets.
